The Center for Global Affairs at the NYU School of Professional Studies invites applications for a non-tenured full time clinical faculty position to develop and lead its ‘Global Economy’ concentration. Courses clustered under this concentration include a core international political economy course as well as electives that examine the global economy through a variety of lenses including global financial markets, corporate power and social responsibility, globalization and interdependence, patterns of economic growth, corporate finance, international trade and business, public-private partnerships, technology and innovation, the role of international/multilateral financial and trade institutions, among others. We seek an individual with professional experience as well as excellent academic credentials who will be able to identify challenges facing the global economy, help shape a responsive curriculum, and teach existing as well as new courses.

The MSGA program is interdisciplinary with concentrations in Global Futures, Transnational Security, Energy and Environment, Development and Humanitarian Assistance, International Law and Human Rights, Gender and Global Affairs and Peacebuilding, in addition to the concentration in Global Economy.  This concentration has evolved out of the existing ‘Private Sector’ concentration, in which some existing courses will be updated to address current developments in the global economy.

The successful candidate will be expected to play a lead role in curricular development in this concentration and to teach a selection of graduate level courses within it.  Additional responsibilities of full-time faculty that the successful candidate will assume include identifying and recruiting adjunct faculty, student advisement, engagement in administrative duties at the request of the Divisional Dean, and in the Center's robust series of public events. Successful candidates will possess an advanced degree in an appropriate discipline (economics, business, development studies, international political economy, etc).  A PhD is preferred.  Relevant work experience can include experience teaching at the graduate level, experience in the private sector, or in international organizations addressing issues of finance, trade, labor, etc. The individual chosen for this position should possess the background and experience necessary to teach a variety of courses in the curriculum, a record of publishing and research, and contacts in the private sector or international institutions relevant to building internship opportunities for students and to building the profile of CGA as a source of excellence in global affairs. The rank of the position will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.
