Postdoctoral Research Associate on Connected and Automated Vehicles

Two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) are available in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in control theory with an emphasis in applications related to CAVs, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in HEVs (PHEVs). The prospective Postdoctoral Research Associates will be part of a team consisting of academic and industry partners as well as researchers from national labs to work on an ARPAE project.
The project focuses on developing and implementing novel control technologies aimed at maximizing the energy efficiency of HEVs/PHEVs without degradation in tailpipe out exhaust emission levels, and without sacrificing the vehicle's drivability, performance, and safety. These technologies will exploit connectivity between vehicles and the infrastructure to optimize concurrently vehicle-level and powertrain-level operations.
We are seeking exceptional individuals who hold a Ph.D. in relevant disciplines and have demonstrated dedication to creativity, innovation, and engineering solutions.
