Degree and area of specialization:

MD or MD/PhD; Area of Specialization: Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Community Health, Psychiatry, Obstetrics/Gynecology, or Surgery.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

The highly qualified candidate for this tenured appointment will have: 1) demonstrated leadership in academic medicine, including education and training of research and health services workforce; 2) a vision for addressing the health research needs of the future (in academic and health care delivery settings); and 3) a significant knowledge about and positive experiences with human resources and fiscal management.

The incumbent must be eligible for appointment on the tenure track and possess a proven track record of securing extramural funds. The successful candidate will also hold a faculty position as Professor in a relevant department, which may include participation in the clinical, research and/or education missions. The academic department will be determined based on the incumbent's academic qualifications and area of research.

Candidates for full professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.

License or Certificate:

WI medical licensure required.

Position Summary:

The Senior Associate Dean will have responsibility and oversight for key health science campus research resources, set and execute institutional priorities for, and develop and implement strategic initiatives to maintain and enhance excellence in Clinical and Translational Research and Education, and serve as the Executive Director of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR).
