Position Overview
The University of Kansas Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) is seeking qualified applicants for a lecturer pool to teach in its Master of Science in Educational Technology program, primarily at the Edwards Campus and some positions may be in Lawrence. Typically, part-time lecturers are hired to teach courses on an as-needed basis but usually teach one course per semester. Lecturers will be responsible for delivering assigned courses as needed at the Edwards or Lawrence Campus.
ELPS invites candidates to submit applications, which will be reviewed and placed in a pool for consideration as openings arise. Applications will be accepted throughout the year and appointments will be made as needed. Please be advised that the need for lecturers varies from year to year. Amount of work required can vary by position and will range in FTE.
The Master of Science in Educational Technology degree program at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus, offered by the KU School of Education consists of 36 credit hours of coursework, an exam and the production of a portfolio that reflects the student's competencies in National Educational Technology Standards. This interdisciplinary graduate program is designed for individuals who are seeking work in PK-12 education, higher education, government, organization, and/or corporate training.
Lecturers may teach more than one course per year depending on need at the Edwards or the Lawrence campus. Lecturers contribute to the mission of the University of Kansas, the School of Education, and the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies; and must adhere to all departmental, school, and university policies.
Lecturers may be needed to teach the following courses: Instructional Media Development, Foundations of Learning Technology, Human Performance Technology, Media Technology, Integration of Learning Technology, Constructivist Learning Technology, Design of Learning Technology, Online Learning Design and Development, and Games and Simulations for Learning.
Applicants will be accepted throughout the year. The successful applicant must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins.
