Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Receptionist provides administrative support to the University Relations - Office of Financial Management and occasional support to the Associate Vice President for Business and Administration. S/he is responsible for maintaining filing systems of paper and electronic files; providing consistent, quality customer service, serving as receptionist for the front reception area of the Financial Management Office, including greeting all guests, answering phone calls, and responding to emails. Other responsibilities include researching and resolving problems and inquiries; act as "back-up" for handling the mail and courier deliveries, ordering supplies, assisting with other foundation/financial management duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED AND One year experience providing administrative support.

Preferences:

At least two years of experience providing administrative support in a professional office environment.
Experience using MS Word and Excel.
Experience using KFS and/or BSR Advance or similar.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive date with discretion and tact.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
Ability to interact with the public, faculty, staff at all levels, and students in a courteous and efficient manner.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
Knowledge of development and/or fundraising process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
