Description: Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Director for Development and Alumni Relations (Director of Donor Relations). The Assistant Director is responsible for managing an institutional-wide stewardship program that consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors to Southern Illinois University Carbondale and/or SIU Foundation at the principal gift level ($100,000 or greater). This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Relations.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years’ experience in donor relations or similar customer services field is required. Substantial experience in a professional or academic setting in which customer service is provided to elite or high-end clients is required. Strong communication skills, planning, and attention to detail is required.
Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess proven leadership and organizational skills.
This is a security-sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.
Compensation: The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience; there is an excellent fringe benefits package.
