Title of Position: Senior Research Manager

The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University is seeking a Senior Research Manager for their Community Research Institute (CRI).  The Senior Research Manager will work closely with the CRI director to manage the day to day operations of evaluation and community research work.  The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the field of philanthropy, both on the funder and nonprofit sides, a solid knowledge of research design, and staff management experience.  The person in this position will assist in supervising a talented staff of research and technology professionals.  This person will help manage the center’s workflow, scoping out new projects as they come in, assigning them to research teams with appropriate skills while maintaining equitable workloads, monitoring the quality of processes and deliverables, and assisting staff to increase their capacity in an effort to continually improve our end products.  This is a staff position that will oversee research projects and help develop an overarching research agenda for the center, with some opportunities to present and publish, but will not be responsible for maintaining and independent research load.  Grand Valley State University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity institution.  Applicants from diverse backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged to apply.
