Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The University of Maryland Alumni Association seeks a Membership Coordinator who will provide daily customer service and administration for the membership department. This person will be responsible for the overall membership experience once someone has joined or renewed. The coordinator will serve as the face of membership to all members, assume ownership of customer issues, and follow through on resolutions. They will serve as the main point of contact for member benefit program vendors, pulling member data to submit for renewal notices and checking the accuracy of member accounts. The coordinator will work to enhance the member experience by documenting customer service actions, analyzing feedback data, and providing recommendations and corrective action to the membership team to aid in the retention of our members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education (include licenses, certifications, etc.):
Bachelor's degree required.

Experience:
At least 4 years of professional experience in a customer service role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Superb interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to have great working relationships (internally and externally) that result in high customer and staff satisfaction and appreciation for the institution and the Alumni Association.
Strong administrative and organizational skills. Must have strong communication skills to include oral & written.
Must be project-oriented, able to handle several tasks simultaneously, and possess an ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure while managing deadlines.
Self-starter and the ability to work in a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferences:

Experience in Ellucian Advance or databases is a plus.
Experience in events or working with volunteers is preferred.
Experience with data reporting and analysis.
Experience working within higher education or the non-profit sector.
