PUBLIC HEALTH--FACULTY POSITION

Job Description: The Department of Public Health at East Carolina University is seeking applications for a twelve month, full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

The Department currently offers a Master's degree of Public Health (MPH), with anticipated DrPH degree in Health Policy Administration & Leadership planned to be offered in the near future. The MPH Program is nationally accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health.

The mission of the MPH program is to educate, conduct research, provide service, and advocate for improved community health emphasizing rural and disadvantaged region.

East Carolina University (nearly 28,000 students) is located in Greenville, North Carolina (population of 89,000). On the coastal plains, the area has mild winters and is 90 miles from the beautiful Crystal Coast and the capital city of Raleigh. It is within driving distance to Charlotte, Washington DC, Myrtle Beach, and the Smokey Mountains.

The selected candidate will work in the area of Healthcare Finance in the Department of Public Health and duties include:

Teaching graduate courses in health care finance, management, marketing or related areas;

serving as graduate academic advisor;

maintaining an active research program;

participating in departmental, college and university service participation as well as community/professional service.

Academic rank and salary are commensurate with academic credentials and qualifications.


Minimum Qualifications: A doctorate in health care finance or a related discipline from an accredited institution

Demonstrated research productivity, including work with collaborative interdisciplinary teams;

Demonstrated communication skills necessary for effective teaching and service;

Demonstrated Commitment to diversity and the reduction of health disparities.
