Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The User Services Coordinator and Trainer works with a team of analysts, programmers, report writers, and developers that support the day-to-day management of data and reporting needs of the University of Maryland University Relations philanthropic operations, including understanding and supporting constituent data, demographic data, giving history, prospect information, appeals and mailing lists, and other related information. The primary system of record for these services is Ellucian Advance.

The User Services Coordinator and Trainer will design and conduct beginner, intermediate, and advanced training in one-on-one, one-to-many, and self-service formats. Training will be provided in all systems that support the University's philanthropic activities, including Ellucian Advance, self-service reporting, Intranet, Microsoft Office, and internally developed applications such as front-end gift processing, online giving management, and endowment reporting. In addition, s/he will create, update, and maintain documentation for training and UMD Advance database procedures.

The User Services Coordinator and Trainer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and deleting Advance alumni/donor database user accounts. Will determine Ellucian Advance user permission levels based on user job responsibilities and maintain Advance user list and password control.

The User Services Coordinator and Trainer is the UMD point of contact for all Ellucian Advance database code creation (Activities, Committees, Mailing lists, etc.) is responsible for the communication and implementation of Advance software upgrades, and leads user groups.

Will provide help desk/customer service (Advance, Microsoft office automation, training advice, password reset, etc.), coordinate biographical data updates, and work with University schools and units to expand use of the Advance database.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education (include licenses, certifications, etc.): Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of technical training development and delivery experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Microsoft office suite.

Preferences:

Five years of technical development and delivery experience.
Experience with comparable donor database system is preferred.
A background in developing self-service training tools (recordings, webinars, etc.).
Familiarity with fundraising terminology and concepts.

The salary range for this position is $58,000s to $ 73,000s.
