Director, Mattone Family Institute for Real Estate Law


Title: Director, Mattone Family Institute for Real Estate Law

Job Summary:

The Director will be responsible for developing a comprehensive Real Estate Law program for students and practitioners interested in pursuing a career in real estate law, finance, development and/or public policy. The director will work closely with affiliated faculty to propose curricular enhancements. The director takes an active role in student enrollment/recruitment, and tracking the students' progress towards graduation and employment. The director will market the program and build relationships with employers as sources for internships and future employment. The Director, Mattone Family Institute for Real Estate Law, reports to the Dean. (Or Vice Dean)

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, supervise and expand all aspects of the Institute including academic colloquia and conferences, continuing legal education; student internships and clinical training.
  • Build programs for students in conjunction with faculty such as Real Estate Scholars (first year students) and Real Estate Fellows (advanced students)
  • Develop curricula proposals
  • Manage day-to-day support and problem-solving for the Mattone Institute
  • Develops enrollment/recruiting strategy
  • Manage the administrative responsibility for the efficient operation of the Mattone Institute, including:
    • Designing and approving marketing materials, with the assistance of the Law School Communications Office
    • Overseeing the Office's web presence and webpage content
    • Interacting with students, other administrators and faculty
    • Monitoring progress of students
    • Developing, updating, and reporting on program performance metrics
  • Research and develop student externships and internships
  • Create a clinical training program
  • Other duties as assigned, including serving on Law School and university committees


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience. J.D. preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in the Real Estate industry preferably in the New York Real Estate community
