The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a tenure-track position to begin in the fall of 2017.  This position will be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Job Duties:

To teach courses in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice; conduct research and publish in his or her area of specialization; engage in service within Arizona State University at the school, college, and university levels, as well as externally for the profession and the community; participate in curriculum development, program planning, and student advisement. The candidate will also be collaborating with criminal justice agencies on evaluation research and technical assistance projects.    

Education Required:                    

PhD in criminal justice, criminology, or related field by the date of appointment.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in criminal justice, criminology, or related field, with a specialization in courts and sentencing; expertise in advanced statistical analysis; experience working with large government databases; a strong record of (or strong evidence of the promise of) scholarly research and publications; and evidence of teaching effectiveness.  

Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to contribute to the mission of the School in teaching, research, and service.  The responsibilities of the position include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on courts and sentencing and on statistical analysis; engaging in research and publication in the applicant’s area of specialization; and providing service to the school, university, community, and profession.
