Associate or Full Professor of Smart Construction

Position Summary:
The Myers-Lawson School of Construction (MLSoC) is seeking applicants for an Associate or Full Professor position, whose research and teaching interests align with a new campus-wide, multi-disciplinary focus on Intelligent Infrastructure for Human-centered Communities. This Destination Area for research and education has been parsed into four primary themes: Ubiquitous Mobility, Automated Vehicle Systems, Energy, and Smart Design and Construction. We seek an individual with primary interests in the Smart Design and Construction area whose teaching, research, and industry engagement will support an intelligent, adaptable, and sustainable, human-centric built environment. State-of-the-art facilities are being constructed to support this domain and participating faculty. It is therefore preferred that the candidate have teaching, research, and/or industry experience with emerging processes and technologies such as digital construction, smart buildings and building performance, production systems, lean construction, and robotics, augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR), robotic total station ( RTS ) and global positioning ( GNSS ), lasers, digital tracking, digital and additive manufacturing, wearables, drones, or photogrammetry. An individual with a proven record of collaboration, scholarship, research funding, and teaching effectiveness, and who shares our core values of service and "hands-on, minds-on" learning, is preferred. The opening is for a faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor, so an immediate impact to teaching and research can be made. The School is a joint venture between the College of Engineering and the College of Architecture and Urban Studies. Tenure home will reside in the Department of Building Construction in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.
Appointment to the rank of Associate or Full Professor carries with it the duties of conducting research, seeking and maintaining external funding and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses that support the school of construction. Successful applicants will also be required to participate in program assessment and strategic planning, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in construction or a closely related discipline. We are seeking highly qualified candidates committed to a career in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and developing and maintaining an internationally recognized research program
