Retirement Planning Coordinator

Percent of Time/Week:100% Service Schedule:Calendar Year

Position Description:

Leads and coordinates all aspects of university employee financial and retirement benefits; analyzes and examines possible plan designs, risks and benefits cost changes; ensures timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and reconciling; ensures compliance with applicable government regulations, collective bargaining agreements, Iowa Board of Regents policies, University policies, and vendor contracts; counsels and provides expertise to university stakeholders; designs and implements education programs for stakeholders; communicates with employees who have a broad range of financial literacy; supports the benefit team by providing support and designing communication; and manages the Phased Retirement program.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.

Required Qualifications:

At least four years of experience administering employee financial and retirement plans, financial consulting or retirement consulting required. Working knowledge of retirement savings plans, investment concepts, Medicare and Social Security programs; ability to independently analyze information and identify and implement solutions; experience handling confidential information; experience presenting to large and small group settings on financial literacy; excellent quantitative analysis, organizational, communication, and customer service skills; and proficiency with Excel also required.

Certifications:

Retirement planning certification or securities licensure preferred.
