INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR

Job Description: The Assistant Director, Internship, within the College of Business Career Center reports directly to the Director of the College of Business Career Center.
Essential functions of the job include: Provide strategic direction and visioning for the College's internship and co-op program while expanding opportunities for high-quality placement; lead in developing, fostering, and maintaining relationship with business leaders and HR professionals to benefit of students' career development, internship and employment opportunities; oversee the placement and evaluation of students in internship and co-op positions; identify and document existing student internships to accurately reflect student outcomes; assist in planning and delivery of career programing such as career information & development events, employer information events for students, career fairs, and programs to engage alumni and employer partners; communicate job, internship, and other Career Center opportunities to COB students; encourage students to apply for internships; support COB students with guidance and information regarding internship and co-op opportunities; collaborate with faculty to provide career readiness and professional development initiatives for students; develop, implement and manage tracking of student success through first destination at graduation, three months after graduation and six months after graduation; utilize career management system(s) (ie. CareerNet) and other relevant technologies that support students and employers while documenting on-going communications; cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven assessment by collecting data to assess program offerings, identify developmental needs and opportunities for growth promoting alignment with the college's strategic plan and learning outcomes.

The normal work schedule of the position is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some after-hours and weekend work is required. Candidate serves on College of Business and University committees as appropriate. Some evening and weekend duties and responsibilities accompany this position as directed by the Director and/or Associate Dean for Student & Faculty Development. Some travel may be required. The selected candidate will have experience delivering and evaluating comprehensive career services to diverse constituents in an academic environment.


Minimum Qualifications: The Assistant Director must possess a graduate degree (MBA, MA, MS, PhD, or EdD) in a related area (including but not limited to human resources, vocational or academic counseling, adult education, educational leadership, business administration, public administration, psychology, or higher education administration) from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience OR be professionally qualified with a bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of directly-related professional experience. Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and customer-service skills are required. Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities in a fast paced academic or business environment is essential and candidates should enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.
