TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - JOURNEY

Job Description: The Multimedia & Technology Services (MTS) Department of Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS) Academic Technologies seeks a highly motivated, energetic individual to work as a Technology Support Technician. This position is responsible for providing Tier 1 phone support for audiovisual issues. Serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students needing assistance with departmental conference room equipment and provides outstanding customer service. Maintains work order tickets for support provided. This includes managing the departmental AV After hours Support and Event Calendar.
This position is the primary contact for scheduling professional level audiovisual support for academic, clinical, and administrative clients for Brody School of Medicine events. Responsible for solving hardware, software and audiovisual inquiries and provides tier 1 phone support to Division of Health Sciences (DHS) clients and departments. Participates in a weekly rotation to provide support for after hours and/or weekend events as needed.
This position also compiles and prepares monthly and annual statistical reports on all departmental activities in a timely manner according to established guidelines and procedures.


Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position's role. Computer coursework may be substituted year-for- year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional six months experience.


Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent: 63 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
