BUSINESS & TECH APP ANALYST- ADVANCED

Job Description: The selected candidate will work as a software developer within the Enterprise Information Systems division of Information Technology & Computing Services (ITCS) within the New Technologies Development Group to design, develop, and support complex, enterprise-wide internet applications.

This position is responsible for project management, documentation, and all phases of the software development life cycle. It will also provide technical consultation to other programmers, project leaders, managers, departments, faculty, and related university personnel and organizations. This position will often function as the top-level technical contributor for specialized projects and will also be responsible for meeting with management to define and design applications to meet the automation requirements of the entire University.

This position must also evaluate new technologies with the intent of implementation. Additional responsibilities with new technologies includes providing training to other team members and the development of related standards. All job duties must be performed with minimum technical supervision.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Candidates should possess thorough, progressive, professional knowledge and experience in internet application design, user interface design, programming techniques, and programming languages.
Candidates should possess professional experience designing and developing software using web technologies including hands on experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL. They should also be familiar with server side programming and have professional experience on at least one of the following languages: ColdFusion, ASP, PHP, or similar, including design patterns and frameworks such as MVC. The selected candidate will be expected to work with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and modern Javascript libraries such as AngularJs, Bootstrap, and JQuery. They should also be comfortable working in a team environment.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor's degree and some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development; or Associate's degree in Computer Programming and one year of experience in application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Advanced level requires an additional two years of experience


Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent:78(for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
