Study Abroad Advisor

Percent of Time/Week:100% Service Schedule:Calendar Year

Position Description:

Recruits and provides individual and group advising to students regarding study abroad programs, registration, course approval, and academic transfer credit requirements; assists Director with program development, budgeting, and administration of UNI semester programs; participates in the updating and enforcement of the international crisis management plan/process; assists with program evaluation efforts; plans and participates in some committees, conferences, and events; and completes special projects as assigned.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in international relations, public relations, business administration, or related field required.

Required Qualifications:

At least two years of combined experience in advising, recruiting, or working with students in a college or university setting required. Experience working, studying, or traveling abroad; strong written communication skills; experience with public speaking; and excellent multitasking and organizational skills also required. Student experience will be considered.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience with study abroad programs; working with students from different cultural backgrounds; experience with spreadsheets and desktop publishing software; and an ability to speak a second language preferred.
