VICTIM ADVOCATE

Job Description: The primary responsibilities of the Victim Advocate are to provide case management, advocacy, referrals, counseling, and crisis intervention to victims/survivors of sexual assault, rape, harassment, relationship violence, stalking, and other forms of crime. Additional responsibilities include educational programming and accompanying victims to the hospital, police department, court and/or relevant university offices.

This position will provide leadership within Student Affairs and the ECU campus community regarding interventions and programming relating to sexual assault and violence prevention.

The Victim Advocate will work collaboratively with fellow Victim Advocacy staff and other related university offices, and will be well-versed in issues associated with the Clery Act, Title IX, and Campus SaVE Act.


Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related human services field.
One year direct experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence.
Must possess a working knowledge of crisis and/or trauma-related interventions appropriate for late adolescent and adult development.
Eligible for licensure within NC as a clinical social worker, counselor, or psychologist.
