It is our mission to prepare activist leaders for social justice and equity in education. For information about our program go to http://www.sjsu.edu/edleadership/.Responsibilities:The department is seeking qualified part-time faculty to teach our graduate students. Teaching responsibilities for these positions include graduate courses in all areas of Educational Leadership including fieldwork supervision for the Preliminary Administrative Credential, research methods, human resources in educational contexts, and fiscal and legal aspects of educational administration. Successful candidates will have familiarity with the California Administrator Performance Expectations (CAPEs), with quantitative and qualitative research methodology, Institutional Review Board processes, community organizing, or management and leadership in K-12 contexts.Teach graduate courses in areas of educational leadership. All courses are hybrid with both face to face and online instruction. Instructors teach 3-hour sections 2-3 times a month (days vary); hold office hours by appointment; work cooperatively with staff, chair, and other faculty members; participate in course assessment activities; and address the needs of a diverse student population.Minimum Qualifications:? master's degree from an accredited university (doctorate or ABD preferred) in educational leadership or related field;? commitment to and demonstrated potential for teaching excellence as evidenced through satisfactory performance in prior academic appointments and/or advanced knowledge of the subject matter to which the individual is assigned to teach; and? excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collegial atmosphere of shared governance.Application Procedures:Applicants should email a cover letter detailing the specific courses of interest along with a current curriculum vitae with contact information to the interim department chair, Dr. Camille Johnson (edleadership@sjsu.edu).Eligibility: Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
