Job Description
The Program Manager for Soar in 4 reports to the Director, Retention and First Year Experience and is responsible for independently providing program metrics, data analysis, and interpretation. Responsible for managing all services related to the Soar in 4 program, compiling data analysis, making interpretations, compiling reports, and presenting findings to the UGS Dean. This position will collaborate with other directors within Undergraduate Studies, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and other departments throughout the university to provide services and accountability for students' academic success and timely graduation. This position will coordinate the program initiatives for databased decision making related to student retention and progress to timely graduation.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Higher Education, Counseling, Student Development, Enrollment Management, or other closely related field.
Five years of appropriate experience in programs focused on student retention, student degree tracking and completion, enrollment management, assessment, data analysis and projections, or other closely related experience.
Experience with analysis of student data generated from student databases such as Banner and other software programs.
Ability to make decisions about support programs, services, and enrollments based on key group indicators. Ability to make suggestions and generate projections based on data. Ability to write reports based on data analysis and interpretation.
Proficient in operating a personal computer, using Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Ability to learn and use Adobe Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's or terminal degree (PhD, EdD) from an accredited institution in Education, Higher Education, Counseling, Enrollment Management, Student Success, Student Development, or closely related field.
Three years of experience working with students, faculty, and administrators in a Higher Education Institution on issues related to retention, persistence, and graduation.
A proven record of leadership, collaboration, and implementation of database decisions to enhance undergraduate enrollment, progression, and retention.
Experience working with students, administrators, and advisors to address retention and degree completion issues and programs.
Experience assessing program effectiveness, analyzing data, and writing reports.
Experience collaborating with advisors, student affairs, and academic affairs.
Experience with Banner and Access or ability to learn how to use the software.
Proficient in Adobe Suite and similar software systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to FERPA regulations for handling student records and of working in a confidential context.
Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets, documents, and databases using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other systems.
Ability to create, implement, and manage programs through a collaborative leadership style.
Ability to collaborate with other departments and offices and to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Ability to plan and evaluate programs.
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of student retention research and best practices.

Ability to write reports for programs, proposals, courses of recommended action, and data analysis and interpretation to support policies and practices related to the Soar in 4 program.
Knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices of student success that impact retention and graduation.

Salary Range

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
•Coordinates and manages the University's Soar in 4 program efforts and related strategic initiatives.
•Provides direction and accountability for collaborating to implement high-impact practices and services that provide powerful support for undergraduates' timely graduation.
•Maintains accurate records and data analysis related to student progression and retention.
•Manages and evaluates requirements, eligibility, rebates, and forms associated with the Soar in 4 program and related services to incentivize undergraduate student retention and progression to graduation.
•Collaborates with Administration to establish policies, guidelines, and procedures for retention and timely graduation. Works collaboratively with the Director of Undergraduate Studies Retention to achieve university graduation and retention goals. Works collaboratively to monitor strategic plans to meet Soar in 4 program initiatives.
•With guidance and collaboration from the Director, oversees budget tracking and expenditures. Ensures that budgeting, personnel matters, and program reporting are accomplished in accordance with university and grant program guidelines and policies.
•Collaborates with Institutional Research to develop and implement assessment strategies to rate, analyze, and meet the initiatives of the Soar in 4 program.
• Continually conducts ongoing analysis of undergraduate enrollment data and trends. Presents data analysis to administration; offers best practice recommendations for continued program success.
•Collaborates with academic departments to provide comprehensive plans and strategies for retention and progression of undergraduate students and smooth operation of the Soar in 4 program.
•Partners with administration to identify and deliver strategies to enhance the student experience and support retention and graduation rates.
•Provides program information and communication to students, parents, staff and the community regarding the program requirements and eligibility.
•Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of university policy and procedures as well as degree requirements across the various colleges.
•Serves on student retention and progression committees; collaborates with administration in student and academic affairs.
