About the Position:

Under the general direction of the Cashiering and Student Accounts Manager, the Administrative Specialist II/Supervisor will be responsible for analysis and execution of administrative operations and development and execution of both internal and external communications of the Bursar's Office.

Responsible include, but are not limited to:
- Complex tasks regarding the planning and maintenance of communication plan for the Bursar's Office
- Assisting in the preparation of the Bursar's Office academic calendar
-Providing administrative and technical support for the day-to-day processes and operations of the Bursar's Office
-Supervision of the Student Account staff and Student Assistants
- Performs duties under minimal supervision and works independently to achieve the specified outcomes

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and four years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Peoplesoft: Finance, Student Admin, Human Resources, including creating queries.
- Experience in a California State University system.
- Experience writing and editing MySJSU Messaging, email and social media content for both internal and external audiences.
- Experience reviewing and updating all student communication formats.
- Experience maintaining web pages.
- Experience conducting various presentations.
- Experience in Budget preparation and projection.
- Experience with Human Resources procedures and payroll activity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
- Thorough knowledge of methods, procedures and practices; English grammar, business writing, punctuation and spelling.
- Thorough knowledge of the student information system (PeopleSoft) and finance management systems (FTS & CFS) and ability to interpret complex financial records.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to compose and appropriately format correspondence and reports.
- Working knowledge of software programs, word processing, spreadsheet, database management.
- Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle multiple work priorities, organize and plan work and projects.
- Must possess excellent customer service and public relations skills.


Must be dependable and available to work overtime, including weekends, peak times or at University events.
