Thoracic Radiologist

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, University of Utah, is seeking a thoracic radiologist who has a vision and passion to advance the field of thoracic and cardiac imaging in our expanding thoracic imaging section. The faculty member will join a group of six faculty members who are thoracic and/or cardiac imagers. The candidate should be fellowship-trained (or equivalent) with experience in thoracic and cardiac imaging and ideally have 2-to-5 years of subsequent experience in thoracic imaging. However, exceptional applicants out of fellowship will also be considered. Evidence of prior academic work and desire to participate in research opportunities is strongly desired. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to scholarly work and trainee education, are essential. It is expected that this individual will provide service in the Thoracic and Cardiac sections; the latter is a shared service with colleagues in the Department of Cardiology. The academic appointment will be at a rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on the candidate's academic experience.

The sections provide clinical services at the University Hospital, VA Medical Center, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and university-associated outpatient clinics. The Department offers an outstanding residency program in Diagnostic Radiology. The initiation of a fellowship program in Cardiopulmonary Imaging is planned for July 2017. Extensive imaging resources, including multiple MRI , CT, and PET -CT scanners, are available for research. The Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research ( UCAIR ) in the Department offers international expertise in imaging sciences including cardiovascular MR imaging research and CT imaging physics research.
