University of Utah - Assistant Professor, Research Scientist

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for two (2) positions as Assistant Professor, Research Scientist (Tenure Track) in the Department of Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery Laboratories at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the biologic sciences and prior experience working in cardiovascular research, with particular emphasis on cardiovascular energetics, polymers, and/or biologics. The successful applicant will be expected to lead a research effort in cardiovascular mechanisms and therapeutics. A prior strong publication record in the cardiovascular field is strongly preferred. Prior work experience in an academic medical center is also strongly preferred. Applicants will be expected to work not only with the faculty of the Division of Cardiothoracic, but also interface with a number of investigators in complementary fields including cardiovascular imaging, biopolymer research and genetic analysis. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to mentor undergraduate students, medical students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows during the course of their work activities.
