Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Sociology and Criminology

The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position beginning September 1, 2017. A Ph.D. in Sociology, Criminology or a related social or behavioral science field is required. Applicants must have broad expertise in Race/Ethnicity, with a secondary area in Criminology or Social Justice. The Department is especially interested in applicants who provide an integration with other areas of emphasis, including race, criminology, social justice and criminal justice, while having an analytical sophistication and data driven focus that add strengths in these areas (http://www1.udel.edu/soc/). The Department is a top-ranked program in Criminology and offers graduate (MA/PhD) and undergraduate degree programs in Sociology and Criminology. The department has affiliations with Black American Studies (BAMS) and the Center for the Study of Diversity, in addition to the Department of Women and Gender Studies, the Center for Drug and Health Studies (CDHS), the Disaster Research Center (DRC), and the Legal Studies Program. These affiliations offer opportunities for collaborative research, teaching and mentoring/professional development.
