Summary of Job Duties
The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing, analyzing, and interpreting clinical laboratory tests. This position will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, fellow lab employees, x-ray, and administrative/support staff. Other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in medical technology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related field

Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant with American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience working in an ambulatory medical laboratory


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of principles and theories of chemistry, microbiology, and related health sciences
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of medical laboratory testing, equipment operation, and maintenance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to assign and coordinate work activities and monitor the performance of co-workers and/or subordinates
  • Ability to perform clinical laboratory tests and analyze and interpret results
  • Ability to maintain laboratory equipment
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain records

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; PRN Tuesday through Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. & Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. during the academic year
