PSYCHIATRIST - - FACULTY POSITION

Job Description: The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is now accepting applications for two full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.

The position offers an excellent blend of clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activities in this growing, multi-disciplinary, and collegial Department.

The faculty member will work in both community-based and university settings. The successful candidate will provide direct clinical care both face-to-face and via telepsychiatry), assist in the teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, residents, and other health professional trainees; collaborate with other faculty members in conducting clinical research, with the opportunity to initiate projects if desired; and function as a University faculty member, performing such duties as appropriate to academic rank and position.

East Carolina University is the 3rd largest public university in North Carolina, with approximately 27,000 students and over 5,000 faculty and staff. ECU combines the rich tradition of college life with the energy and innovation of a doctoral research university. This combination allows students and faculty to enjoy the benefits and resources of a large research university in an atmosphere more typical of a smaller college. The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center (formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital). Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Fixed Term or Tenure Track position available at title/rank of Assistant Professor or higher.


Minimum Qualifications: Requirements include MD or equivalent degree from an appropriately accredited institution,

completion of accredited child and adolescent residency training,

and board certification or eligibility for board certification.
