MULTIMEDIA & PRODUCTION SPECIALIST

Job Description: The Multimedia & Production Specialist works directly with student production, design, video, photography and multimedia staff across platforms and organizations within ECU Student Media. Areas of specialty include guidance on social media, video production, print production, design, website development and computer maintenance.

This position coordinates production schedules and deadlines for publications, serves on-call to handle production problems, is responsible for delivery to printers and serves as liaison with printers, offers advice regarding websites and serves as Student Media's liaison with ITCS in helping maintain computers systems.

The specialist will design and create internal departmental forms and marketing materials and advise students regarding planning, development and design of promo materials.

Administrative and technological duties include maintaining supply needs, ensuring equipment is serviced and maintained, assisting with installation of new hardware and software, and troubleshooting and maintaining computers, files and Outlook.

In the area of training and advisement, the Multimedia & Production Specialist provides graphic design training for staff members from select print publications; coordinates and develops schedules for specialized training in advanced software use, graphic design, digital photo and multimedia production; trains and advises web team, and trains and advises photographers and photo editors.

Work performed should have a sound understanding of digital journalism and social media optimization.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.


Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
