The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine invites applications for Chair of the Department of Periodontics. This full-time tenured track faculty position is at the associate or full processor level and involves the administrative responsibilities for the academic, research and clinical programs of the Department. The Department has education and clinical facilities within the School of Dental Medicine and has CODA approved certificate programs in Periodontics as well as programs that include prosthodontics and orthodontics. Residents are also enrolled in a combined Periodontics and DScD degree program. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong commitment to research as part of our tripartite mission of mission of research, teaching and patient care.
The School of Dental Medicine is searching for an individual with outstanding leadership and academic accomplishments including:
• Internationally recognized contribution to clinical and/or basic research
• Clinical expertise in periodontics
• Extramural funding
• Experience mentoring students, residents and faculty
