ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Job Description: The Associate Director for Freshmen Recruitment will assist with the development and management for fall and spring recruitment, both in and out of state. The position will manage territory regions while working with the counselors to develop their territories and take ownership of specific regions as well as be responsible for coordinating travel itineraries for the freshmen counselors. This person will assign counselors to a specific region and review and approve travel request forms and expense reports. The position will develop, implement and project recruitment initiatives and outcomes and accurately measure recruitment efforts to determine whether expectations are being met by each counselor. They will create recruitment initiatives for off campus events in an effort to increase applications and enrollment as well as train and educate staff about Recruiter, EPS, and other available recruitment options. The Associate Director will represent the university at information sessions, both on and off campus and counsel prospective students and their families on admissions, financial aid and scholarships. Maintaining strong relationships with guidance counselors is a must. This position will develop and coordinate on call schedule for counseling staff and travel as needed or directed by the Senior Associate Director as well as complete other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: A master's degree is required. The successful candidate will possess at least three years of professional admissions counseling or related academic advising or higher education experience. Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, experience making highly effective and engaging presentations and strong public relations skills. Experience in the development, organization, management and success measurement of programs is required as well as data assessment and analysis. Position requires a valid NC driver's license. Must be willing to travel and be available for some evening and weekend.
