Job Description: Full time, tenure track position available in the Department of Management Information Systems within the College of Business at East Carolina University beginning August 2017. Candidate will teach some combination of undergraduate and graduate course in a variety of areas including data analytics, database management, systems analysis, IT Infrastructure/Networking and programming. Online teaching is a possibility. The standard teaching load is 9 s.h. in each of the fall and spring semesters and 2 preparations. Candidates will perform scholarly research leading to publications in the area(s) of specialization as required for tenure, be expected to provide service to the university, community and profession, and other typical services duties as assigned by the department chair. Teaching excellence and strong scholarly productivity is expected. Appointment is at the Assistant professor or Instructor rank with competitive salary and research support.

The Department of MIS within the College of Business at ECU has approximately 102 undergraduate majors and 23 faculty members and offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The College of Business holds AACSB accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications: Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor requires a PhD with a concentration in Management Information Systems or related discipline (including but not limited to Data Science or Information Science) from an appropriately accredited institution that satisfies credentialing under SACS guidelines. Candidates with PhD conferred at the time of initial appointment preferred, however, candidates with all degree requirements completed or ABD at the time of initial appointment, with degree conferral no later than December 2017, will be considered for initial appointment at the rank of Instructor according to the university tenure regulations. After conferral of the doctoral degree (December 2017), the appointment rank will become Assistant Professor at the beginning of the spring semester 2018, with no change in timing of reappointment and tenure decisions.
