Position Description

Summary Qualifications:  Master’s degree (undergraduate or graduate business degree preferred) and five years’ experience in higher education.  Experience in curriculum management, multicultural programs, advising, online education, and assessment preferred. Proven record with staff supervision, working in a management team and collaboration with associated university offices.

Summary Responsibilities:  The Assistant Dean’s role, duties, and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight and management of the undergraduate business program (both traditional and online) and associated staff; management of the undergraduate curriculum process including participation in the College and University Curriculum Committees; working with College deans in overall direction of the College in accordance with strategic planning initiatives; managing the general business major and online majors; oversight of advising, Multicultural Business Program, and online support staff and advising processes for all business majors; advising general business majors and students seeking second majors and degrees; enforcing College academic requirements for course enrollment, admission to upper division business courses, and graduation; making decisions regarding requests for exceptions to College policies; working with the Admissions Office and Center for Global Education in the evaluation of transfer and international credits for both degree-seeking students and exchange programs; presenting College information for incoming students, new freshmen, and transfer students; reviewing late add requests, late drop requests, and requests for late withdrawal exceptions; managing the College scholarship process; and participating in College and University committees (e.g. Curriculum Committees, Enrollment Management, International, Assurance of Learning, Distance Ed Advisory Committee, Administrative Council, etc.)
