WIDA PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE MANAGER


Position Summary:
WIDA, an organization within the University of Wisconsin-Madison Wisconsin Center for Education Research, provides trusted tools and resources for educators of multilingual learners pre-K through Grade 12 (wida.wisc.edu). WIDA offers a fully integrated, research-based academic language development system, including learning standards, assessments and professional learning. The PMO (Project Management Office) Manager position will be based in WIDA's Administration/Operations department and manage a team of project managers, all dedicated to the management of projects and focused on planning, executing and problem solving. This position will be also be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of 1-2 large, cross-departmental projects within WIDA, including aligning people and resources, where needed, and creating systems to improve the process.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Required:
* Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in project management
* Experience coordinating/managing portfolios of programs and projects to meet organizational strategic goals
* Experience designing and implementing project prioritization and management processes developed in conjunction with team members and stakeholders
* Knowledge of and experience using project management tools, techniques, and software
* Experience leading and managing a team. Commitment to diversity and inclusion, as evidenced by success working with and leveraging the talents of diverse project teams
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven capacity to translate complex ideas into clear prose
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills

Preferred:
* Experience with MS Project and/or SharePoint
* Experience supervising a team of project managers
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
