Degree and area of specialization:
Master's degree in Genetic Counseling required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience with relevant work experience in Cytogenetics/Molecular Genetics: Board Certified, American Board of Genetic Counseling

License or Certificate:


Position Summary:
This position will provide specialized genetic counseling clinical support to the WSLH, Disease Prevention Division, Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics Department. Duties will include:

Provide instructional educational training of cytogenetics and molecular genetics to undergraduates/graduate students, medical students, residents and fellows.
Development of continuing education outreach efforts to the community and outside clients.
Foster relationships with clinical and university affiliates.
Provide case communication consultation with clients regarding test orders and results.
Assist in the clinical test development, including test costing and test validation.
Assist with genetic variant interpretation (sequencing and microarray analysis).
Participate in laboratory collaborative research projects and scholarly publications.
Coordinate the DNA banking program within the Department.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position.
