Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field required. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Required:

Experience with C++ and have successfully released software developed collaboratively.

Experience in two of the following:

1. Performance profiling tools
2. Compilers and code generation
3. Distributed and parallel computing
4. Debugger development
5. Assembly language programming

Must have good oral/written communication skills.

Preferred:

Expertise in one of the above mentioned areas.

License or Certificate:


Position Summary:
The Paradyn Project in the UW Department of Computer Sciences is a world leader in tools for the analyzing, instrumenting and modifying binary code, with applications in performance measurement, debugging, testing, software security, forensics, and many others. Our tools are used in research and commercial products around the world, including being an integral part of Red Hat's SystemTap tool. This is a chance to join a team that develops new ideas and techniques in binary code analysis and modification, and produces release-quality software to support academia, government and industry.
