Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:
BS/BA required, preferably in the biochemical sciences with an emphasis on biochemistry, cell biology, immunology or genetics.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Research experience in one of the the following areas is preferred: molecular biology techniques (RNA, protein work), mammalian cell culture, biochemistry or immunology. Additional consideration will be given to applicants with previous experience working with transgenic mouse colonies. Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and train others is desired.

Position Summary:
The Research Specialist will work with the principal investigator and graduate students or postdocs in the Biomolecular Chemistry Department to establish a robust research program studying cellular stress responses in cell culture system, as well as in diabetic mouse models to understand the mechanism of the disease, and develop novel and better therapeutic approaches for diabetes.
