Minimum $55,406 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelors degree required, preferably in business, business administration, health services administration or science related field. Masters preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
The candidate should possess more than four years of progressively increasing responsibilities in budgeting, clinical research administration, fiscal management and reporting, preferably in a university setting.

Well-qualified candidates will have the following preferred experience:
- Previous clinical research management experience in an academic setting.
- Supervisory experience.
- Ability to work independently as a team leader using initiative and good judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of government regulations and guidelines with respect to human subjects research.
- Experience managing multiple IRB protocols.
- Experience developing and managing budgets and tracking expenses.

Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Department of Anesthesiology Director for Business Services, the Research Program Manager will manage the Department of Anesthesiology's research program. The incumbent will develop a thorough knowledge of the department's research activities, both basic science and clinical trials, and the policies and procedures governing sponsored research. In addition, the incumbent will serve as a member of the department's management team and is expected to develop a working understanding of the department's personnel, fiscal management and clinical activities.
