Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in health administration, biological sciences, social sciences, business or related field preferred, but will consider degrees in other fields.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in research or sponsored programs administration is preferred.

UW experience and familiarity with regulatory policies is a plus. This position requires proven grants management capabilities including grant preparation and electronic submission processes, post award management and closeout. Experience with National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant funding a plus.

Position Summary:
The role of this position is to support members of the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology engaged in sponsored research through administrative activities to maintain and build on the expanding research portfolio of the Division. This includes assisting faculty and academic staff in developing and submitting grant applications, contract proposals, and progress reports; oversight of ongoing research activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state and university regulations.

This position works closely with the Geriatrics Research Program Manager III to support sponsored research through pre-award and post-award activities for all federal and non-federal grants and contracts including all sub award and sub contracts. The current portfolio includes approximately $73 million from federal, state, and private agencies. This position requires the ability to maintain outstanding communication and interaction with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP), as well as with the Department of Medicine and other various schools and colleges.

Additional Information:
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to write and communicate effectively.
- Strong computer skills; experience with Microsoft software and UW systems desired.
- Ability to manage many detailed projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
