Degree and area of specialization:

No degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and auditing principles.
Ability to interpret federal, state, and UW rules and regulations as they relate to a variety of areas.
Knowledge of, or ability to learn policies and procedures relating to cost reimbursement type contracts, research grants, and UW-specific processes related to grants, purchasing and travel.
Experience in use of Microsoft word processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs.
Experience with fiscal management of pre-award and post-award research grants and contracts
Experience in working in a team environment.

Position Summary:

The Research Administrator (RA) will join the BME administrative team in providing high quality support to members of BME engaged in sponsored research. Utilizing excellent customer support and interpersonal skills, you will work with world class researchers, investigators, and other university representatives to maintain and build upon the vibrant and expanding Biomedical Engineering research portfolio. We are seeking a candidate with sound decision making and balanced judgment, with the flexibility of thought and style needed to maximize benefit to University stakeholders. This professional position will have the opportunity to support sponsored research that will have significant community and societal impact.
