The Department of Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks faculty candidates for a faculty position in the areas of mechanics of solids, with expertise in mechanics of materials, computational mechanics, advanced manufacturing, and advanced materials processing. Candidates excelling in theory, computational modeling, experiments, or any combination of these approaches are sought. The candidates should have a strong aptitude for teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses and are expected to conduct collaborative funded research and maintain a world-class extramurally funded graduate research program. As a hire is sought at a senior level, an outstanding reputation in the field of specialty is a primary requirement. The candidates for the position should possess academic credentials to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison.

Position Summary:
The Department of Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks faculty candidates for a faculty position in the areas of mechanics of solids, with expertise in mechanics of materials, computational mechanics, advanced manufacturing, and advanced materials processing.

The Department is a globally recognized leader in higher education with enrollment of over 300 undergraduate students and
over 100 MS and PhD graduate students. Degree programs include Engineering Physics, Nuclear Engineering, and
Engineering Mechanics & Astronautics. The Department is also ranked nationally for research activity in excess of $18M
annually. The Department has 24 faculty, and over 50 scientists and research staff.
