Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:
M.S. degree in Food Science or related field is required

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least one year of experience with dairy processing equipment or related food processing equipment (obtained commercially or demonstrated through educational experiences) required. Experience in the application of food science principles is desired. Candidate with knowledge of dairy chemistry and technology, food engineering, and process controls/automation is a plus.

Position Summary:
The Center for Dairy Research (CDR) is one of the premier dairy research centers in the World. CDR serves as a national leader in strategic research to improve the competitive position of the dairy industry by linking Center/University faculty, staff, students and the dairy/food industries in order to address key issues resulting in the transfer of technology and communication of information.

The incumbent in this position will work within the CDR Processing Group, which utilizes dairy plant processing equipment to conduct process trials for research and industry clients. Fractionation, thermal processing, preparation of cheesemilks, cultured products manufacture, concentration of drying of milk, whey, and whey proteins and other dairy fractions represent some of the pilot plant processing operations.
