Job Summary:
This is a highly responsible position at the Charter Street and Walnut Street Heating Plants. Duties include the monitoring and the operation of high pressure boilers, mechanical refrigeration equipment, air compressors, steam turbines, fans, pumps, generators, condensate polishers, water treatment and related equipment using a Digital Control System (DeltaV) network. Type of work will vary slightly depending on which Plant employee is assigned to for that shift, and which equipment is in operation. This work is performed under the general direction of a Power Plant Shift Superintendent.

Requirements:
Driver's License

Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's License that meets UW Risk Management Standards and maintain ability to drive drive State of Wisconsin owned vehicles.

Selected applicants may be required to pass a pulmonary function assessment to be able to use a respirator.

This position requires a conviction record check. Because of the nature of this position, applicants will be asked to furnish a signed written record of any conviction or pending criminal charges.

In the event you are required to work in or around animal facilities, you will be enrolled in the appropriate medical surveillance program.


Schedule Comment:
Work schedules will include rotating shifts with some holiday, weekend and overtime to meet the needs of the department.
