Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Previous parking structure experience is preferred. Highly qualified applicants will possess: Knowledge of the Madison campus and public parking areas and various types of parking permits issued such as, daily, annual, service, departmental, handicap and temporary; Knowledge and understanding of business management, including management principles as they relate to personnel, office management, and accounting and budgetary controls; Skill in oral and written communications with strong human relation and interpersonal skills; Ability to learn and enforce UW-Madison Transportation Services policies, procedures and practices;Ability to effectively handle difficult customer situations with appropriate conflict resolution skills; Ability to use a personal computer to access, enter and edit program data and to use other software packages to record, analyze and summarize data; Ability to effectively supervise the day-to-day activities of staff including the establishing of priorities, assigning individual staff duties, coordinating and evaluating performance, and assuring the staff work together as a team; Organizational skills, tact, judgement, confidentiality and independent decision making;

License or Certificate:

A valid Wisconsin Driver's License which meets the UW Risk Management Standards.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising, scheduling and maintaining booth operations across the campus. The position will supervise operations of the staffed lots and ramps on campus and act as a liaison between the department and the general public during weekend operation. This position is responsible for the daily cash reconciliation of the cashier positions for which it supervises. Duties are performed under general supervision.

Additional Information:

Normal work hours are 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Wednesday through Sunday, with a 30 minute lunch break.
