Advertised Salary:
Minimum $70,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:
DVM or equivalent degree with advanced specialized training in Shelter Medicine

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least three years of experience working in or with animal shelters; at least one to two years of experience with outreach and consultation activities with animal shelters preferred. Proficiency in practical and tactful identification and articulation of strengths, problems and possible solutions. Ability to write reports and recommendations that will be clear to an audience with a wide range of backgrounds.

License or Certificate:
Must be eligible to obtain license to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Wisconsin

Position Summary:
This position is part of the UW Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine, Shelter Medicine Program.

Additional Information:
Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communcation skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Also must have creativity, originality, and a proven ability to initiate projects and see them to a successful completion. Must have a demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaborate in a team environment. Also must have the ability to take direction as well as the ability to provide leadership. Must be comfortable working with people of all levels of expertise and training must be extremely high. Remote candidates are encouraged to apply but a preference will be given to applicants living near Madison, WI.
