Job Summary:

Position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for instructional staff and students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate chemistry courses offered by the Department of Chemistry. Worker goals and responsibilities include assisting teaching staff with the preparation and instruction of teaching laboratories and demonstrations; development, maintenance, and proper storage of large chemical inventories; maintenance/repair of a variety of laboratory equipment, computers, and instrumentation; developing and implementing proper safety protocol for the storage, collection and deposition of hazardous waste materials; and managing, organizing, and maintaining a display museum illustrating the tools/instruments/techniques used by historical figures of the UW-Madison chemistry department.

Requirements:

Prior laboratory experience is required.

Schedule Comment:

Normal work hours are 7:45-4:30pm. However, the schedule is somewhat flexible.
