Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting, business, finance, or other relevant field

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

At least three years of relevant experience is required.
Experience interpreting and understanding grant financial reporting and policies is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge and application of professional accounting and auditing theories and principles.
Experience working with complex automated accounting systems and processes, including query software.
Experience with WSDM, WISPER, ECRT, e-reimbursement preferred
International travel, work, or study experience preferred.

Position Summary:

The International Division leads campus efforts to cultivate international scholarship and engagement, promote global awareness, and prepare students for a diverse and interconnected world. Through partnerships, special initiatives and development activities, the International Division collaborates with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to ensure UW-Madison?s position as a world-class public research university.

This professional position, which operates under the supervision of the Division's Special Assistant and the Dean/Vice Provost, manages all Division A10 accounts including 101 state funding and 128, 131, 133, 135, 136, 144, 145, and 150 funds, provides budget analysis, expenditure tracking and financial reporting while also providing oversight and advising on other division funds such as the UW Foundation 233 gift accounts, UW Trust 161 gift accounts and scholarship funds. The incumbent will also be responsible for budget development and management, and operational data analysis. This position independently prepares and presents updated reports on all funds to the Vice Provost/Dean and Special Assistant as appropriate and serve as the Division?s lead budget officer.

The Budget Manager represents the Division at campus-wide financial management committee meetings, and serve as the Division's representative to the Budget Office and Business Services. This position provides financial support services as well as budget and grant management for the International Division at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and its associated units such as the Institute for Regional and International Studies (IRIS), International Academic Programs (IAP), the International Internship Program (IIP), and the Office of International Projects.
