IBD RESEARCH SCIENTIST


Position Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a PhD research scientist for a tenure track faculty position in the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The ideal candidate will have innovative interests in any investigative aspect of IBD including but not limited to inflammatory response, mucosal immunology, and gut microbiota. The incumbent will be expected to have a strong research profile with funded research and demonstrated ability to acquire funded research sufficient to support programmatic needs.

Principal Duties:
Direct research investigations in the field of inflammatory bowel disease. Pursue independent funding sufficient to support a robust research program in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in collaboration with other faculty scientists at the UW Madison. Teach didactic courses and provide mentorship to graduate students, trainees and other learners. Engage in other scholarship as appropriate to appointment and participate in research and educational endeavors of the Division, as well as other university service.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
PhD in translational research methodologies or related field is required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at that rank per UW-Madison and School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.
