Job Summary:
This position functions as the receptionist and cashier for clients being seen or coming in person to UW Veterinary Care (UWVC). This is a key position in which the incumbent must develop considerable knowledge of policy and procedures in all areas of the UWVC clinic for smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. Incumbent must have well-developed skills in multi-tasking, organization, independent and creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail. This position requires the ability to make independent judgements as well as background in veterinary medical terminology in order to accurately serve clients. Requires excellent communication and customer service skills. This position is under general supervision of the Reception Desk Supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
Appropriate hand and physical dexterity for telephone, computer, copy machine and fax machine operation.
Able to sit for long periods of time.
Able to stand, walk, and occasionally carry objects up to 30 pounds. Able to stand in medical records aisles and reach up and down for records, and occasionally use a step stool to reach high records.
Schedule Comment:
9:00 AM - 5:45 PM with a 45 min break Mon-Fri; required to work 1-2 legal holiday shifts per year.
