Job Summary:
This position will function under the general supervision of the Finance Manager in the Department of Radiology and provides detailed accounting and auditing duties that involve a high level of complexity. This position provides accurate and timely fiscal management reports and auditing duties that involve interpretation of University of Wisconsin (UW), University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation (UWMF) and Department rules, regulations, policies and guidelines. This position will provide financial expertise, financial management reports, analytical data and associated financial services to the Director, Finance Manager, the Research Administrator, Vice Chair of Finance and Business Development, Chairman and other staff. Funding amounts and sources include a total of more than $100M processed through the UWMF and UW, in preparing, maintaining and processing invoices, expense reimbursements, purchase orders, processing internal and external work orders, UW and UWMF account expenditures for federal, department operating, non-federal, gifting, grants and capital exercise awards and funds (Funds 101, 233, 136, 144, 133, 135, 161), creation and maintenance of financial databases and dashboards, and will track contract revenue for timely payments. This position will create and maintain department reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for University, UWMF and department financial analyses and provides service to all SMPH Radiology faculty, administration, and staff for University and UWMF revenue and expenses.

This position will analyze, process, and audit a variety of complex department financial transactions connected to a diverse set of funding sources in an evolving set of rules, regulations and business practices imposed by the University, UWMF, granting agencies and department policies. It requires initiative in the timely and accurate preparation and processing of financial transactions and reporting. Knowledge of established bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices is required. The position is responsible for tracking, reconciling and reporting on accounts, encumbrances, and balances, requiring expertise in using spreadsheets, word processing documents, email programs, and related software experience to accomplish goals. Duties will be completed according to University, UWMF, and department rules and regulations and in compliance with granting agency requirements

Additional Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

2. Knowledge of advanced financial principles and practices.

3. Knowledge of purchasing rules, regulations, and procedures
(preferably those of the State of Wisconsin, UW-Madison and
UWMF); payment/credit procedures, travel guidelines; contract
processes; and account structure.

4. Knowledge of WISDM, Accounting Data Warehouse (ADW),
FAST, PeopleSoft, Excel, Word, and internet/web-based
applications.

5. Extremely well organized with attention to detail and ability to
effectively prioritize in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

6. Ability to demonstrate initiative, problem solve, and participate
in making fiscal decisions.

7. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
to effectively communicate with faculty and staff.

8. Demonstrated commitment to courteous and responsive
customer service, with the desire to work as a member of a
team.

Schedule Comment:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with limited flexibility.

The pay rate listed above is the minimum for the position. The actual starting offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
