Job Summary:
This position serves as a point of contact in the UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) Chair?s Office and DFMCH Clinical Care Office. Responsibilities include assisting in-person and calling visitors, faculty and staff, managing mail/correspondence, maintain and ordering office supply inventory, preparing mailings, assisting with office administrative functions, and assisting with (or managing) departmental awards, events and Grand Rounds. This position supports the DFMCH Chair, Vice Chair for Clinical Care, Associate Vice Chair for Teaching Practice Operations, and Associate Vice Chair for Community Clinics and works closely with the DFMCH Assistants to the Chair and DFMCH Clinical Care Administrative Assistant.

Position responsibilities require excellent administrative, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills. The person in this position must present a positive attitude in all personal and telephone interactions and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students and the public utilizing discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Position requires the ability to multitask, exercise initiative, self-motivation, independent judgment and action.

Schedule Comment:
The required working hours for this position is 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (30 minute lunch) or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1 hour lunch) Monday thru Friday to meet operational needs. Occasional evenings (3-6 times a year) to attend and staff DFMCH events and awards and occasional early mornings (3-6 times a year) to staff departmental or clinical care meetings.
